    ドン・チェリーはダラーブランドと交流を持っていたよ...

    ドン・チェリーはダラーブランドと交流を持っていたようで、度々、自身のアルバムでダラーブランドの楽曲を取り上げている。しかしながら二人が共演した残された音源は少ない(私の知る限りこの一枚のみか？)。チェリーはアフリカに限らず中東やインドの民族音楽をも自身の音楽に取り入れた正にワールドワイドなアーティストであったが、このアルバムではアフリカ音楽の旗手的存在のダラーブランドとの共演ともあり、アフリカエッセンスのタップリ詰まった音楽を聴くことが出来る。ダラーブランドの名盤「アフリカンピアノ」でも顕著であったが、同じ旋律をパターンを変えながら展開していく手法はどこまでも心地よい。
