Originally recorded in 1974, Dizzy's Big 4 consists of Joe Pass on guitar, Ray Brown on bass, Mickey Roker on drums, and, of course, the legendary Dizzy Gillespie; one of the greatest, if not the greatest, Jazz trumpeters of all time. This is truly one of Gillespie's best small-group recordings from the latter portion of his career, and is a necessary addition to all Jazz collections. This newly remastered edition features two previously unreleased bonus tracks not on the original album!

変わった名前のジャズマンですが、曲がったトランペットを蛙のようにほっぺをふくらませるて吹く親父、といえば見たことがあるかもしれません。マイルスのミュートもいいんですが、マイルスが冷たいクールな音なら、ガレスピーは、ホットで鯔背な音です。チャーリー・パーカーとともに、ビ・バップの始祖で、その名称の由来となった曲も入っています。ジョー・パスも参加。
