Product Description

2010 album from the Chicago-based Alt-Metal band. A decade after the release of their groundbreaking debut, The Sickness, Disturbed have become one of the most passionate and well-respected bands in the Hard Rock universe, a dependable source not only of pummeling riffs and jackhammer beats, but of personal and political insights into our troubled times. The band began building Asylum as soon as they got off the road in the summer of 2009. Officially entering Groovemaster Studios in February 2010, the band set about self-producing the album, as they did with Indestructible.

メタリオンにも書かれてたけど、確かに『品質保証』のバンド。 アグレッシブさは相変わらず。でも今作はちょっと飽きる。 これが進化なのか、いつも通りなのかは聴き手の感じ方次第なんだと思うけど。 悪くはない。でも物足りないっていうのが率直な感想。

作風を変えることなく、今回も全米NO.1。これで4作連続NO.1を記録。日本とは温度差を感じるが、リズムに乗った歌唱は芸術的でエモーショナルでドラマティック。4作連続NO.1と、レヴェルの高いバンドだが、日本で人気が出ないのは、文化の違いと諦めるしか仕方がなさそうかな･･･。 おすすめ・・・・・②③④⑤⑦⑧⑨⑫

Disturbedファンとしてはまったく文句なし！アルバムを出すごとに進化し続けている彼らの世界観を今回もまた実感できて嬉しかった。いつもながらの重厚でパワフルなサウンドとDavidの揺るぎない歌唱力も健在。もっとも歌詞については年齢を重ねた分外側へ向かうエネルギーから内側へ向かうエネルギーに転換しつつある気もする。いずれにせよ、Davidがアルバム発売前に言った「このアルバムが人々が自分自身の試練や苦難を乗り越える手助けになる作品となることを望んでいる」という言葉どおり、へこんだ時にパワーをくれる熱い出来栄えだと個人的には思っている。ちなみに、日本盤ボーナストラックは実際は14曲目に入っており、13曲目には何かのカバー曲が収録されているが、知識がないので何の曲だかわからない。どこにも何も記載がないのでシークレットボーナスなのかな？
