Devastations have a long history with Brassland, as the first band signed to the label on the strength of an unsolicited demo. Since forming, they've shifted their home base from Melbourne to Berlin to London, establishing their cultdom (Q Magazine), working in fits and spurts, on and off hiatus. Brassland has scheduled a long overdue US release for their self-titled debut Devastations. Named Album of the Year in 2004 by Rolling Stone Germany, and the best thing she heard all year by Karen O in Mojo, it's what established Devastations as consummate musicians' musicians.
