Simply on the strength of the furious opening track, "Highway Star"--written in a couple of hours on a bus between shows--and the lazy beat of "Space Truckin", MACHINE HEAD would already be one of Deep Purple's greatest albums. However, the hand of fate took the British hard-rock pioneers to Montreux, where their witnessing of the burning down of the Casino concert hall was immortalized in "Smoke On The Water" with Ritchie Blackmore's indelible guitar riff, and Ian Gillan's simple retelling of events. Soon to become a classic-rock staple, the song elevated Purple and MACHINE HEAD to legendary status.

昔の名盤だが、音質がめちゃくちゃ良くなっ...

昔の名盤だが、音質がめちゃくちゃ良くなってるので買い直しても全く損はないと思う。 だが、ディープパープルのあの特有の古臭い音が好きという人もいるからやはり賛否両論感は否めない。 しかし今レビューしながら聴いてんだけどまじ神曲ばっかだわ。 こんな神リフを作ってくれたディープパープルに乾杯！！

最新のリマスター版も購入して比較してみたが、こちらのリマスター版の方が良く感じる。SACDは聞ける環境ではないが、このアニバーサリー版で満足出来ますよ

私が一番最初に聴いたハード・ロックのアルバムであり、“Highway Star”一発で、ハード･ロックに目覚め、虜となったきっかけとなったアルバムです。本作は捨て曲がないアルバムだと思います。初めて聴いてから30有余年、未だに飽きずに愛聴しています♪最初に出会ったのがLed Zeppelinならば･････と思うと、その後の音楽人生も違ったものとなっていたかも!?Deep Purpleから、Rainbow、Gillan、Whitesnake等へとその後、興味が広がっていきました。私の音楽人生を方向付けした素晴らしいアルバムです★彡
