豊かな響きを愉しんだ　ドビュッシーとラヴェル　印象派の弦楽四重奏曲として屡併記されてきた二曲は作曲家二人の音楽がどう近似しまた相違するかを際立たせている　ドビュッシーは主情的であり叙事的傾向を有する　ラヴェルは対称的に　主知的とは言わないが客観視する眼差しの下に叙情する　ラヴェルがドビュッシーを参考にしたことは間違いない　ドビュッシーにはマス・トーンへの嗜好が顕著だ　ラヴェルはモノ・トーンへの偏愛を示して音彩すなわち音色が意味を持つ　この弦楽曲にても音の色彩は意味深い　エルサレムQuar.は四つの弦が４つの線を野太く朗々と鳴らす　神経質にならず運動する中で感じ歌う精神が貫かれている　何より四人がよく聴き合っている　四つの音を超えた音響を作り出している　爽快にして明快な印象派クァルテットとなった　古き良き時代の通念に染まっている人には違和感があるだろう　スコアを読もう　エルサレムQuar.がスコアを通して二人の天才と正面から向き合っていることが分かる　あなたも如何
