テンプテーションズの顔デヴィッド・ラフィンのグルーブ脱退後、彼のソロ名義としてモータウンから当時リリースされた3枚目『DAVID RUFFIN』(73年)と、4枚目『ME 'N ROCK 'N ROLL ARE HERE TO STAY』(74年)が2IN1でリイシュー！2004年に(米)HIP-O SELECTから、この2アルバムを含むソロ・アルバム4枚をまとめた高額限定CDがリリースされたが数年の内に廃盤、本作は現在CDで容易に聞くことが出来なくなっている名盤なのである。

3枚目『DAVID RUFFIN』- ボビー・ミラーによる制作の他、ギャンブル＆ハフ制作でハロルド・メルヴィン＆ザ・ブルーノーツの「I MISS YOU」のカヴァー(6)等も収録。
4枚目『ME 'N ROCK 'N ROLL ARE HERE TO STAY』- 当時彼のソロ作品としては初となる、モータウンの"A-LIST"プロデューサー、ノーマン・ウィットフィールド
指揮による作品。
