ロジャー・ウォーターズの参加が話題を集めた「ライヴ・エイト」での奇跡的な再集結パフォーマンスも記憶に新しいピンク・フロイド。そのピンク・フロイドのギタリスト、デヴィッド・ギルモアの約22年ぶりとなるソロ・アルバム。1984年発表の『アバウト・フェイス』以来となる本作は、ギルモア本人のプロデュース。共同プロデューサーとしてクリス・トーマスや元ロキシー・ミュージックのフィル・マンザネラの名前もクレジットされるそう。他にもゲスト・ミュージシャンとして、デヴィッド・クロスビー、グラハム・ナッシュ、ジュールズ・ホランド、リチャード・ライト、ガイ・プラットらが招かれている模様。
