After leaving GusGus in order to pursue his own musical path, Danel reached a pinnacle of creativity and quality as he embarked on this debut solo project. The album is a collection of songs Danel has painstakingly crafted, composed and orchestrated. It reunites him with Bix (who has remixed Madonna, Beck & Sigur Ros) after the pair collaborated so successfully on GusGus' second album This Is Normal. The result is a collection of blissful, mini-symphonies with an infectious pop edge. Electronic hisses, fizzes, squelching bass and Eleanor Rigby-esque strings announce the arrival of debut single 'If You Leave Me Now'. Danel and Bix have created a rich tapestry of orchestration, eerie bleeps and rousing soulful vocals. Together, they have produced something sublime -a 21st century wall of sound as well as something enduringly classic.
