Not Afraid

Dancer broke up in 1986. After four years together, playing local clubs in Los Angeles and recording one album, we went our separate ways. That album was nearly finished at the time of the break-up, and the idea of completing it someday would stay in the back of my mind for the next 20 years. When the time was right, the doors opened wide and something that once seemed destined never to be, suddenly was meant to be-albeit two decades late. Fortunately, we stayed clear of many of the musical trends of the times. Our influences were as much in jazz and reggae as they were in rock and pop. This is reflected in the variety of musical styles on this record. Though warned this might work against us, I'm proud that we followed our instincts and remained true to what felt right to us. All these years later, it still sounds good to me. And so I say to Neal Faison, Jeff K. Bandy, and Don Tucker... to all our fellow musicians who helped us on this project... and to our past and future fans, Here it is! Julian Pardo.
