Scratching at the board. Pulling at the strings. Fever for melody. Been writing songs before I was writing songs. Always been playing. Afterwards there is this music. Culmination of before, always, and ever after. It might crackle, it might hack, it might butter. Part rock, part pop, part folk, part soul, part blues? This music is a multitude of influences and a multitude of sounds. Playing off of experiences in rock, pop, and blues bands of the past; this album shows the unique songwriting and vocals I have been developing over the past 15 years, since picking up a guitar. Cryptic, insightful, and introspective, but short and to the point; these songs stretch the boundaries of genre and sound. As for the nuts and bolts, this album is a series of live performances of me with an acoustic guitar or keyboard in a small studio seated among the Appalachian mountains of central Virginia. I am accompanied by additional instrumentation and vocals as necessary. An even greater amount of the accompaniment comes from affected radios, insects, playgrounds, and imagination.
