ぼくの名前はテッド。ある日、ぼくが働いている博物館が無くなってしまうという話を聞いた。そこで博物館を守るため、ぼくはアフリカにある宝物を探しに行くことになった。黄色い帽子と探検服でアフリカの奥へ奥へと進むぼくらの前に現れたのは、宝物じゃなくて小さな子ざるのジョージだった！結局宝物は見つからず、あきらめて帰ることにした。ところが、なんとジョージがぼくを気に入って、ニューヨークまで着いて来てしまった！ジャングルで育ったジョージは、都会に大興奮！こうしてジョージとぼくの冒険と友情の毎日が始まった・・・！
