Harmony Ep

This album was written out of a time when faith in God became all I had to hold onto. At 14 years old I had a very serious traumatic brain injury. All of a sudden, my entire life was turned upside down. My cognitive function was seriously impaired and every single aspect of my life changed; I lost every essence of who I was. However, Jesus Christ entered my heart and He showed me that even though I didn't know who I was, He did! These songs were written through times of difficulties and sadness, times of joy and laughter, the days when I felt like giving up and the days when I thanked and praised God every second. But one truth rings through it all: God has never given up on me, and He will never give up on you. No matter how bad your life seems to be, you have a wonderful hope in our Savior! These songs are very personal and are a look into my heart. I am sharing them because they were written not only for me, but also for everyone who hears them. I hope that you find inspiration and joy in these songs that God has placed on my heart. Dan McKinney (of Dan's House Studio in Center Valley, PA) produced my album. Here is an excerpt from an article he wrote on his website about the release of Harmony EP: 'Back in December, a high-school kid named Cristabelle Braden came in to the studio with only her songs, her guitar, and a rather amazing personal story. Three years ago she had sustained a serious brain injury which had significantly reduced her capacity to function in the world. But over those years, she's ... discovered and nurtured new capacities, with music becoming a predominant force in her life. Her Christian faith has sustained and guided her through the process of recovery, and her songs reflect her deeply felt gratitude and devotion. I've been told that Cristabelle pre-accident was quite a different person than the Cristabelle post-accident. The focus of her life has not only shifted, but her personality had been transformed by the trauma as well, as is often the case with people who've suffered severe brain trauma. I'd never met the old Cristabelle, so can't really say anything about the girl that was lost in this process, but the new Cristabelle I met is a charming, enthusiastic, and talented musician and songwriter, eager to share with the world what she has to offer. If I had known nothing about her background, she'd just be another run-of-the-mill extraordinarily talented, deeply committed high school kid to me! (Like I run across those every day...)'
