19cクラシック・ギターのレパートリーとしては、ソルやタルレガの影に隠れ目立たない存在のN.コストですが、組曲形式の”フランドルの想い出”は名曲です。特に終曲の”ロンド”はベートーヴェンの第５シンフォニーを彷彿させる主題がユニーク、劇的な効果万点！！曲全体の構成としては、ほかの曲とのバランスがイマイチですが、第一曲マーチや４曲のワルツもそこそこ楽しめます。全部で５集ある曲集では、他に秋の木の葉（12ノワルツ）、”ロッシーニの主題によるモチーフ”やエチュードなどもかなりいい線いってると思います。
