フレデリック・フェネル指揮、イーストマン・ウィンド・アンサンブルによるマーキュリーの録音は、マーチや吹奏楽のために書かれた作品、ワーグナーなどの編曲ものなどが残っていますが、その中で特異なのが、このアルバムです。 本CDは平たくいうと、アメリカ陸軍と国軍のラッパ譜や鼓笛隊の軍楽作品を集めたアルバムとなっています。 正直観賞用に聴くのは辛いところもあり、演奏云々よりまず資料としての価値が高いアルバムと言えます。 ただ、録音はマーキュリーだけあって、全く問題ありません。 基本的にマニア向きな一枚と言えます。
