Falling In Time

Concetta Abbate is a violinist, violist, singer and composer in New York City. Falling in Time blends a classical music sensibility with touches of folk, jazz and pop. Elusive and seductive, CA's original songs are inspired by natural science, folk tales, Spanish poetry, and everyday objects and sounds. with guitar, bass, string quartet, music boxes, wind harps, bells and electronic pulses from stars. Tracks are tied together with field recordings from the site where each was composed. CA is daughter of violinist Darlene Abbate and bassist Anthony Abbate, who played in the 70's disco band Positive Proof. Described as badass violinist by Garret Bryant (HINGED), she has performed in diverse venues such as the East Indian Music Academy, the Eastman School of Music Cornelia Street Cafe, Columbia University, the Jazz Gallery and the Stone.
