スコットランドのエジンバラ出身の女性ヴォーカリスト、エリザベス・ブレイザーを中心としたバンド。 ８０年代を代表するインディペンデント・レーベル“４AD”を荘厳な空間で支配した彼らの’８２年のデビュー・アルバムから’９０年までの全作品からのセレクションで綴るベスト・アルバム。 あえてシングル中心のヒット曲ではなく、その時々の、あるいはアルバムごとの象徴的な楽曲で並べられている。 美しく幻想的なムードを漂わせ、どこか肉感的ですらある生々しくクオリティの高いサウンドです。
