Product Description

...energetic and buoyant pop-rock- District of Sound ...melodic power-pop...full of scuzzy guitars and memorable lyrics - The Deli Magazine ...hooky ruminations on college abroad programs, teachers, and off-beat literature. ...full of head-banging riffs and crunchy guitar breakdowns. ...

I simply cannot help but love... - Brightest Young Things Ben Eiserike's songs, filled with youthful tales of love and friendship, are reminiscent of other power pop quartets such as Superdrag and (old) Weezer, with their signature lead guitar and impassioned vocals - DCist DC-based power-pop meets indie rock outfit Club Scout releases their debut full-length album 'Only Her Heart Like a Rabbit & This Terrible Hurt.' Named from a passage in the Carson McCullers novel 'The Heart is a Lonely Hunter,' the album is inspired throughout by reflections on love, literature and youth. A tuneful juxtaposition of energy and growth, the 11-track recording features songs written throughout the band's existence, from their very first days jamming together in a basement, to their more recent days... happily, still jamming together in a basement. Recorded and produced by Warren Thompkinson (Running the Guard, Leland Palmer, GOAT) in Baltimore, MD over the course of a year in 2012 and 2013, 'Only Her Heart Like a Rabbit & This Terrible Hurt' is filled with memorable songs about change, memories and maturity. From the love-struck pop-sensibilities of the opening Oh, the One You Love is the One You Want to the soulful ballad Jersey Wall - Club Scout always displays a knack for strong melodies, raucous guitars, thoughtful lyrics, powerhouse drumming and Beach Boys-style vocal harmonies. Club Scout also previously worked with Thompkinson on the Club Scout 7 (2011) featuring their initial single, England for the English which was named to the DC101 Local Lix Playlist for the Best of 2011. BIOGRAPHY: Club Scout expertly draws from the best of power pop, punk and indie rock, combining a strong melodic sense with an unbridled energy. This smashing brand of rock 'n' roll has earned the band rave reviews - from friends and fans alike. Described by Washington Post Express as super-charged power-pop with the most infectious of driving melodics, Club Scout proudly plays a distinct brand of excited rock music. Formed in 2007 in Washington, DC, Club Scout (a play on words of cub scout) features Ben Eiserike (vocals/guitar), Javier Diaz (guitar/vocals), Jeremy Charpentier (bass/vocals) and Joe Ostrosky (drums/vocals). Guitarists Ben Eiserike and Javier Diaz became fast friends while working together as interns at world-renowned independent Avant-Garde / Experimental record label Cuneiform Records in Silver Spring, Maryland. A shared interest in music and fun brought the two together. With the addition of longtime friend Joe Ostrosky (Karmella's Game, Pash) on drums and new friend Jeremy Charpentier on bass, Club Scout was complete. The band's ever-expanding songbook spans from playful to serious, combining thoughtful lyrics with raucous guitars, melodic undertones, and pounding rhythms. Undoubtedly, Club Scout thrives in front of a live audience, bringing rock 'n' roll dynamism to the masses.
