数多いカラヤンの録音中でも屈指の名盤だが、残念なことにデジタル最初期の録音のため、録音はカラヤンのステレオ録音でも最悪の出来である。演奏が素晴らしいだけに本当に残念だった。シングルレイヤー発売なので期待していたが、過去に発売された録音よりは大分マシにはなったが、それでも音場の狭い平板な録音である。アナログ録音も残っていれば良かったのにと悔やまれる。それでも、シングルレイヤー発売してくれたことには感謝しております。
