Late Bloom

My name is Chuck Curry. I am a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist from Flagstaff, Arizona. I've been playing the trumpet since the age of 5. The album 'Late Bloom' features my original songs and arrangements. It is my debut solo album. Three songs on the album, 'Place For Me', '1000 Times' and 'I'm Home' are originals. The rest of the album includes unique arrangements of some of my favorite cover songs. One of these is a jazz vocal arrangement of 'I Can See Clearly Now', by Johnny Nash, in which I sing all of the parts, including the percussion! And, an original arrangement of the beautiful song 'Morning', by the late, great Clare Fischer. 'Breeze Off The River' and 'Look to the Rainbow' are songs plucked from the world of musical theater. They are songs that have great meaning to me. The last song on the album, 'Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans', features the zydeco accordion sounds of SE Willis, his brother John on bass, and Greg Varlotta on trombone and tap dance! I had the great honor of working with some of my favorite musicians on this album. People that I've had a connection with for many years. For me, the main goal of this CD was to produce music with a nice groove, deep lyrics and natural sounds (live strings, live horns and no synthesizers or samples). I love the natural tone of acoustic instruments. I tried to create an album that I wouldn't mind wanting to listening to myself! Hopefully, I have pulled it off. Please enjoy, 'Late Bloom'
