Product Description

Recently reviewed with rave ratings by Lizzie Cornish, a respected music critic formerly with the BBC, who declares, 'Great songs! I don't think I've got a favourite here, as such, because the songs Chris writes are all able to stand alone.' Chris Larose's unique music style features straight up blues tinged with a traditional folk influence. Upbeat, rousing, and thoughtful lyrics about everything from rockabilly chicks and absinthe to privateers, super-girls, and former flames, combined with moving, reverent songs paying tribute to factory workers, native lands and personal experiences make this a memorable collection of original songs performed with a strong passionate voice, robust guitar accompaniment, and accented with classic down and dirty blues harp. Switchblade Blues is a collection of original work inspired by family, friends, love interests, travels, fantasy, and firsthand experiences. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania with my actor/musician father and artist/writer mother, I have been immersed in music and theater since I was born. As I got older I spent much of my time listening to music in the garage while working on vintage motorcycles. I recorded the majority of this album live in the studio with the exception of a few songs where I added a guitar or harmonica solo. My intention is to give my listeners a personal recording that sounds the way I would perform my music for you in person.
