シカゴを拠点に活動した名ピアニスト、クリス・アンダーソン。40年代から同地のジャズ界で活躍し、クリフォード・ブラウンやマックス・ローチ等と共演したこともありながら、極端にレコーディングの数が少ないため、 ‘伝説'、‘幻'といわれてきました。このCDはそんなアンダーソンのベールを剥がす貴重な1枚といえましょう。前半9曲は、長く未発表に終わっていたアルバム「My Romance」より。ベースのビル・リーは映画監督スパイク・リーの父親としても知られています。後半8曲は、リアルタイムではデビュー作となった「Inverted Image」より。フィリー・ジョー・ジョーンズの切れ味鋭いドラムスが、アンダーソンのピアノを絶妙に引き立てています。(jazzyellより)
