The 24 Preludes are amongst Chopin's most wonderful and important works. Also included on this DVD is a documentary wherein Andres Schiff, one of today's great pianists, charts Chopin's life, explores his genius and plays substantial extracts from his work. A wealth of archive material is employed to document the composer's story.

プレイエルでの演奏ということで期待してい...

プレイエルでの演奏ということで期待していたのだが、24曲目のラストの方の半音階重音下降パッセージで音を抜いて単音にするとか、姑息なことをやっている様子がよくわかる。プロとしてあるまじき行為だと思うのだが、堂々と映像として売ってしまう開き直りっぷりに感心する。たぶん永遠に物笑いのネタにされると思う。名ピアニストだと思うのだが、汚点を残した。
