シカゴは、オリジナルメンバーが第1期、テリー・キャスが不慮の事故でいなくなりピーター・セテラが脱退するまでが第2期、それ以降は第3期と私なりに分類してますが、ブラスロックが好きだった1970年頃から聞き始め、BS＆T、チェイス、ライトハウスなどが活躍していた頃、シカゴはいつもトップを走っていた。 テリー・キャスが抜け、ピーター・セテラまでも抜けたシカゴは、気の抜けたビールのようで暫くは聞くこともなかった。今回、セール価格になっているアルバムを見つけて購入してみたが、やはり、私にはシカゴと言えば第1期のサウンドが染み付いているとつくづく感じた。AORぽいバラードなシカゴは好きになれない。今でも、1st~5th、カーネギー・ホールのライブ盤を愛聴しています。評価は、やや辛めに2点にしました。長い夜、サタデー・イン・ザ・パークは色あせない名曲です。

1.Now 6.Love Lives On この2曲が特に佳曲で久々に私のお気に入りリストに追加。 ジェイソンも歳を取り、 力みのない円熟のヴォーカルになってる。

20年来のファンなのでたとえ駄作でもアルバムを買うのですが、これは佳作です。外部のプロデューサーに委託せずセルフで製作していますが、サウンドは纏まっていますし、各曲のヴォーカルも良いです。まさに、「大人のシカゴ」、ほろ苦いAORを聴かせてくれますよ。御年69歳になるロバート・ラムの頑張りに星４つです。 但し、ボートラは余計だったね。中間のギターソロはキース・ハウランドでは役不足なのか…
