小学6年生の時、なけなしの小遣い叩いて高額な2枚組を買いました。If You Leave Me Now、Hard to Say I’m Sorryなどヒットしましたが⑧(I’ve Been)Searchin’ so LongはChicagoの最高傑作だと思います。

このアルバムは、最も良き時代のシカゴが聴ける最後のアルバムであった。テリー作の”Byblos”は出色。ピーターの台頭も見逃せない。しかしながら何といってもA面のジャズへのアプローチ。ロバートのリーダーシップが光る。敬意をこめて星５つを贈る。

甘さは増していき、以後のサウンドの基盤となっていると思う。フュージョン的ジャズサイドと甘ったるいポップサイドの２枚組発表は、当時アメリカで人気最高潮の時期、当然の成り行きだったのかもしれない。
