The magic happened in a small recording studio in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, where these top notch instrumentalists were unleashed to create. 'I wanted to make the kind of music that I as a bass player wanted to hear.' Say's Catalyst founder Matt Holt. 'and I also wanted Gary and Keith to play the kinds of things that they wanted to play. I knew that if I just let them do their thing, great things would happen, and I was right! Keith's creative drumming, and Gary Z's songwriting contributions elevated the material to a higher level.'
