Casualties Of Cool

For Devin Townsend, Casualties of Cool is more than just the latest release of a prolific career, it's an escape - from over 20 years of relentless productivity, and of the pre-conceptions of him that come with being one of the biggest names in his sphere. Townsend looked backwards in order to forward, digging out a battered old Fender amp and telecaster, he revisited the rootsy country and North American folk music of his youth. The album was originally a PledgeMusic project, an experiment to allow Devin Townsend (Devin Townsend Project, Strapping Young Lad, Steve Vai), singer Ch Aimee Dorval (solo, Devin's Ki album) and drummer Morgan gren (Frank Zappa, Kaipa, Meshuggah's Fredrik Thordendal) to make music on their own terms. This version includes a bonus album of DTP demos and a DVD with exclusive Casualties of Cool content that was not available to the Pledge fans.
