カーペンターズの最高傑作はと言えば、他にも名前が挙がるだろうが、文句なしに一番聴いたアルバムがこれ。「HORIZON」のような研ぎ澄まされた緊張感とは違って、いい意味でリラックスした自然体の完成度を感じる。特に冒頭の「A SONG FOR YOU」は絶品。カレンのつややかな声が絶妙のアレンジにのってまさに心に染みいってくる。レオン・ラッセルのオリジナルをも超越したひとつの完成品。他の楽曲もどれも素晴らしく、素晴らしい物語に出会えたような感動と満足感に包まれる。何度聴いてもあきることが無い。

今回再発売されるまでは、ジャケットのロゴや白いハートが遠近感のある（？！）物でしたが、このジャケットが発売当初からのオリジナルです。 ”Piano Picker”ではリチャードのヴォーカル・ソロ聴く事ができます。 リチャード立会いの下、リマスター作業が行われたとのことで、このＣＤでやっとオリジナル・サウンドを聴く事ができるようになりました。

いきなりリチャードの声が聞こえてくると、びっくりするぐらいカレンの声に聞き入ってしまう。有名曲と無名の名曲が、このアルバムではいい具合に配置されている。ベスト盤にはない心地よさがある。
