Cara De Pau is the music of Dan Reddan. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, then raised on several different continents he acquired a first hand knowledge of many styles of music via the radio. It's all just pop music to him. The songs are free to find their own culture and identity. It's not about fusion, this is roots music for the poly-cultural. 'K7!' is a tribute to MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) from the 60s and 70s. The music is arranged in very brief AM radio type songs, primarily instrumental, influenced by Jobim, Tijuana Brass, The Ventures, Booker T and the MGs, etc. Oba Gente! Guests include Mary Louise Knutson, Michael B Nelson and Dave Jensen from the Hornheads, and Karen Skaja.
