This pretty much sums up the lyrical themes of the album 'Lovely Things'. Billy Perkins has spent the last six years working at a lockdown juvenile holding facility . He has witnessed young people struggle with losing their freedom and question the existence of God and what it is to be loved. In the last two years, he's become a father. He's struggled with his own shortcomings and desire to keep his family healthy and safe. Life's simple destinations can be enough to scare you lifeless. The idea of rescue is an old one. It can give you comfort when you get it. It can strain you when you need it. This album plays with that idea.
