ビ・バップなどのモダンジャズピアノの始祖です。とにかく、天才なんでしょう。複雑きわまりないコードチェンジとそこにぴったりと付随していく右手のメロディ。豪放磊落な性格と相まって、フォロワーも多いバド・パウエルは、前期後期で相当評価が分かれるピアニストですが、これは評判が高い前期の代表的な演奏を集めたものです。

何度聴いても凄いなぁと思わされる演奏の数々◇◆◇激しさという点ではVerveやRoost盤には負けると思うけど、全体的な完成度はいい感じだし、Bud Powellの凄さが十分伝わってくる名盤だと思います◇◆◇皆さん是非とも聴いてみて下さい〆
