3人ヴォーカルというコンセプトが同じだからなのか プロデュースのSkip Konteを始めとして 後期スリー・ドッグ・ナイトのバックアップ・メンバーが 何人か参加しているのが興味深いです。 １０月には２枚目の「Sleepless Nights」も国内リリースが 決まっていますが、彼らには３枚目の「Joy Ride」と 当時流行したドゥービーズのマイケル・マクドナルド風の 洗練されたアレンジの「Won’t Let Go」というタイトルの ラスト・アルバムがあり、この際すべてのリイシューが 期待されます。

こんなアルバムが密かに出るとは思いもよりませんでした。ベスト盤がCD化されたことはありましたが、オリジナルアルバムは初めてだと思います。 彼らはもともとDonna Summerのバックボーカルで、このアルバムは彼らの77年のデビューアルバムです。この次のアルバムからDonna SummerでもヒットしたHeaven Knowsが大ヒットして一躍有名になったのですが、その後アルバムを出すも鳴かず飛ばず。いつのまにかいなくなってしまいました。 でもこの1枚目からも2曲ほどシングルヒットが出ています。 Donna Summerのバックですからディスコ路線ですが、ちょっといなたくてプレAOR的な味わいもあるなかなかのサウンドです。 そもそもノイズのないCDで聴けるのが嬉しいですね。どうせなら2枚目もCD化してもらいたいものです。
