これは文句なしに素晴らしい。まず、舞台が美しい。妖精たちが活躍する幻想的な世界にぴったりだ。オベロンのボウマン、タイタニアのコトルバシュ他歌手たちも粒ぞろいだ。二組の恋人たちの一人ヘレナ役で、若き日のフェリシティ・ロットが出ているのも見逃せない。ブリテンの音楽を余すところなく引き出しているハイティンクの指揮も特筆もの。
