Brad Bristow was not the average kid growing up. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Brad began beating on pots, pans and toy drum kits at two. By the time he was 8 his father had bought him his first real drum kit after realizing Brad was incredible at drumming. The Bristow's moved to Atlanta, Georgia when Brad was just eleven. Almost Immediately Brad began to be treated like a local prodigy playing adult parties for $50.00 a shot, simply playing drum solo's and drumming along with requested music from the crowd. There was no song Brad could not duplicate playing after only one listen. Brad gained a reputation in the North Atlanta area as an incredible young drummer and very soon after, began to play with much older musicians in club bands. Brad and his younger brother Brian began to write their own music around ages 16 and 14, with Brad now adding singing to his musical talents. Brad formed various cover bands while attending The University Of Georgia achieving campus notoriety with the popular groups Status, Prodigy and The Switch. This helped Brad financially shoulder the cost of graduating from UGA and continued on the life Brad has always considered to be his destiny - music! While attending UGA, Brad and Brian's original rock music began to get noticed and two different singles released by Prodigy in Athens achieved modest success while receiving radio play in the area. After graduation Brad and Brian continued their original rock writing forming the Atlanta Band Tastemakers, and riding a wave of local and National success culminating in the band being named one of The Top 4 Best Unsigned Bands In America. The Tastemakers then began backing National Acts. Stars such as Cheap Trick, Meatloaf, The Smithereens and The Romantics. The Tastemakers released one CD and became regionally famous from their songs and exhausting live performances. Brad has written music now for over 22 years and has a very solid, respectable and reliable reputation in the Atlanta Music Community. His songs have won praise from radio, print and entertainment critics as well as national recording industry producers, A & R execs, fellow musicians and others who have worked with him. Brad eventually purchased his own Pro Tools recording studio about five years ago and has been writing, recording and producing musical projects ever since. Brad had begun playing the Guitar when he was Lead Singer for Tastemakers and so he started to have a strong desire to release a SOLO CD. He started writing songs by himself, experimenting with various styles, genres, etc...
As Brad would say, Who isn't a fan of Prince? I have always admired the fact that he plays EVERYTHING on his CD's. Prince did it all himself and I 'd like to make it a goal to become the white Prince. Nobody to have to schedule recording times with, Nobody to have to get an O.K. everytime I change a lyric, add a verse, produce a track with Industrial sounds or any of the hundreds of things that could be done with virtually ANY song if the power and ability is there! Brad admits it took much longer than he had originally anticipated. There was always something more important. He never stopped playing live with several bands and his 'real job' went through a period of massive changes during a stretch of about 7 years. When 2013 arrived Brad knew he had all the songs he needed for his solo CD, he simply needed to get them Final mixed properly which he knew would drag out another couple of years if he did it himself, like had been the standard up to now! Brad also knew there might be a total of 4-5 people in the world whom he would trust with the Final Mixing! So enter Roy Clements. One of those people Brad trusted enough and he knew Roy was certainly skilled and talented enough to do a great job with his 'babies'. The only obstacle was the fact that Roy had left Atlanta and moved to Oklahoma ten years ago to be close to family and live out the remainder of his life. So Roy listened to Brad's Songs and came on board to do the final mixing with as Brad says, The most incredible attit
