Rudy is a songwriter with a rare and wonderful gift for writing and arranging songs that hint at their pop-folk influences, but still maintain their unique and inspired sound. [EXCLAIM - Canada's Music Authority] Drawing elements from pop, folk and rock, the music of Brian Rudy + The Architects is driven by Brian's distinctive acoustic guitar style and the strength of his songwriting and arranging. His unique sound developed in part through his unusual guitar playing technique - as a left-handed player, he learned to play a right-handed guitar flipped upside down. Museum is BR+A's sophomore album. The musicianship, songwriting, arrangements and production quality on Museum are impeccable, and decidedly more ambitious than their debut 'Divided Man'. The first half of the CD consists of simple and smartly crafted pop-rock songs driven by Brian's driving acoustic guitar and vocals. The second half of the CD is a grouping of songs called 'Museum Suite' that are musically and thematically intertwined, with a lyrical theme focused on the human impact on planet earth. The music seamlessly weaves it's way between simple folk melodies, acoustic guitar solos, full orchestral movements, and large stadium rock anthem passages, closing with the beautiful, haunting but hopeful 'Burning Hands'.
