Blue Mafia's sophomore label release includes more self written hits that they have become known for. Their debut release included several songs that went on to become some of the years most played tracks in bluegrass. A year later, they are still showing up in Sirius/XM Bluegrass Junction's most 50 most played tracks. Debut bluegrass albums come in all manner of quality. My Cold Heart is by far the most remarkable bluegrass debut I've heard this year, made all the more impressive in that the band has done it themselves. When the IBMA special committees are looking at recognizing Emerging Artists and those to consider for Momentum Awards , they are well-advised to consider the talents within Blue Mafia. - Country Standard Time While I believe it is Dara's song writing that enables Blue Mafia to stand out, it is only by taking the talents of each member and carefully combining those talents that has been the mixture to place Blue Mafia on the map and create a solid project. - Prescription Bluegrass ... a terrific record, and will appeal to anyone who enjoys unabashedly bluegrass music.
