Product Description

Black Powder Legend is all about hard southern rock, and their message is no exception to the genre. Conservative values are at the heart of the project - and since they're not afraid to put their money where their heart is - for every single sale of this album or any song on it, Black Powder Legend will be donating 50% of their profits to a charity called 'Mercury One - Malice Towards None and Charity For All'. If you like what you hear, and want to know more, please visit their website to find out how you can help us heal the country... Writer's notes on each song: Offended: Who else is sick to death of political correctness? Rise Again: As an extension of the first song, our country is full of folks (including myself) who've been 'asleep at the wheel' for long enough to cause our overall direction to shift toward oblivion. I wrote this song when I realized without a doubt that I am a conservative libertarian... Just One of the Guys: This song is about my wife. It's my favorite because it makes her blush every time. Hollywood: I believe it takes the strongest of character to survive the 'Hollywood experience' with one's soul intact. Kudos to those of you who have successfully pulled it off. The 'Halo' Hat Trick (we're big fans of the game, as you will see): PWN3D!: An instrumental inspired by the gameplay in the Halo video game (specifically 'Halo 2', but let's be honest, they're all awesome). I Always Win: Inspired by events in the novel 'Halo: The Fall of Reach' by Eric Nylund. This story is about how John 117 became the super-soldier we control in the video game. Wasted or Spent?: Also inspired by the events in 'Halo: The Fall of Reach', this song explores the emotions and reflections of any military commander who has had the unfortunate duty of sending people to die in order to complete their mission. Lady Liberty: A shout-out to our founding fathers, this song is a reminder of what can happen if 'we the people' aren't paying attention... No Excuse: Take a look at the book of Romans, chapter 1, verses 16-22. What would you be thinking if the rapture had occurred and you remained here to realize you'd been left behind? Without His Shoes: Artimus Pyle sums it up best in his quote. Ronnie Van Zant (lead singer/songwriter for Lynyrd Skynyrd until 1977) never wore his shoes on stage because he said he liked to feel the heat of the stage. Since I haven't heard too many songs written about the man, I figured I'd write one. To the true Skynyrd fans out there, see how many references you can spot in the song... Looking Forward to the Rain: My friends and family have called me strange because I prefer a dark storm to a perfectly sunny day. It's likely because there are so many more sunny days than stormy ones, but there's something in me that longs for some thunder every now and then. Maybe you feel the same? He's Alive: Written by Ronnie Van Zant & Allen Collins and originally performed by Lynyrd Skynyrd, this song is about having faith that you can always count on help from above.
