■アーヴィン・バーリン、デューク・エリントン、ジョージ・ガーシュウィンなどのクラシック・スタンダードが満載。この時点でホリデイは絶頂期を過ぎていたという声もあるが、マイルス・デイヴィスは、「彼女が歌うレパートリーを最も深く理解しコントロールしていたこの時期が、実は最も素晴らしかった」と反論している。バーニー・ケッセル（ギター）、ベン・ウェブスター（テナー・サックス）、「スイーツ 」エジソン（トランペット）、ジミー・ロウルズ（ピアノ）など、彼女のサポート・キャストもそれに貢献している。
