This Time Around

Big Daddy Love is a collection of five career musicians who gravitated toward each other in 2009 Each member has over a decade of professional experience in a variety of specific genres, including bluegrass, southern rock, prog rock, and even musical theatre. Specific influences range from Earl Scruggs to the Allman Brothers to Led Zeppelin, and the bands powerhouse lineup produces a unique blend of energetic roots, blues, and soul, with robust vocals, compelling harmonies, and groovy funk jams that keeps audience's feet moving and spirits soaring. BDL won the prestigious Under the Radar contest at FloydFest early in their career, which set them up as one of the top up-and-coming bands in the southeast. They have also been voted as Greensboro, NC-based publication Yes. Weekly's Best Original Band in the Triad, and HomeGrown Music network voted their Live at Ziggy'z project as the Best Live Album 2013. BDL's new release This Time Around is the first studio album since the 2012 addition of Scott Moss on vocals and acoustic guitar and Scottys Lewis on drums, joining Ashley Sutton on bass guitar, Joey Recchio on electric guitar, and Brian Swenk on banjo. The album was recorded in iconic Woodstock, NY at Applehead Studios in February. 2014. with potent lyrics from Moss and Recchio, this remarkable album includes tales of strong family bonds, a love of American adventure, and hometown outlaws. The album features jazz pianist Marco Benevento and Turkuaz from Brooklyn, NY, and all of the album artwork was created by artist Goodloe Byron of Frederick, MD.
