'Iteration +' contains favorites of fans as well as a few favorites of my own. For blues lovers there is the standard 'St. Louis Blues' plus several torchy songs that, while not standard 12-bar blues, definitely fall into the blues category. The newly recorded 'Keep Him Away From Me' is sassy and sure to become a favorite. Mort Lindsey's 'Scratch' is an old novelty song I dug up from the fifties and most listeners love it. 'The Breeze and I' was chosen because it is completely different from every other song on the CD and it is instrumental. I was recently described in Jazz Times as bridging the line between jazz and cabaret. I think this eclectic CD illustrates that observation.
