1986年のトム・クルーズ主演映画『トップガン』の挿入歌で全米No.１大ヒットを記録した「Take My Breath Away (愛は吐息のように)」(ジョルジオ・モロダー制作) でおなじみ、女性シンガー、テリー・ナンを擁するニューウェイヴ／シンセポップバンド、ベルリン。

1982年にインディのEnigmaレコードから発表され、その後すぐにメジャーのGeffin レコードと契約した際に、同レーベルから再リリースされた『Pleasure Victim』。シングルカットされた「Sex〈I'm A...〉(そのとき、私は…)」「The Metro (時をかけるメトロ)」はいずれも派手なチャートアクションこそ記録しなかったものの、流麗なシンセポップの旨味が凝縮されたサウンドとテリー・ナンのヴォーカルに心奪われる、彼らの代表曲だ。

ボーナストラックとして、「Sex (I'm A...)」「The Metro」「Masquerade」「Tell Me Why」の各シングルリミックスやエクステンデッドヴァージョンを追加収録。
