Product Description

The follow up to the landmark 'Tanto Tempo' sees Bebel Gilberto release the definitive summer soundtrack. Dreamy and oozing warmth, her self-titled new album retains a distinctive Brazilian sound blended with subtle electronica reminiscent of her days with former producer, the late Suba. Bebel has enlisted the talents of producer Marius de Vries (Rufus Wainwright, Björk). Several distinguished guest musicians and co-producers have also worked on the album, including Carlinhos Brown, Brazilian master percussionist Marcos Suzano, Guy Sigsworth and Pascal Gabriel, not to mention a dozen other musicians and a full string section, who participated to the various recording sessions which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Salvador de Bahia, New York, and London. Paradoxically, these new songs (most of which were written or co-written by Bebel) sound even more intimate than 'Tanto Tempo', and Bebel's unique voice has never sounded so warm and soulful.

前作を上回る上質の作品に仕上がり、全てに満足の逸品。 ＃３の「ｱｶﾞﾝｼﾞｭｰ」のサウンドの豊かさ、心地よさ。 心のとける気分を味わって下さい。

神戸の三の宮センター街にあるHMVで2004年7月に購入。この店のワールドミュージックコーナーの試聴盤の選択は割りと気に入っています。 日本盤には訳詞が付いていないので安いEU版を選びました。購入後９か月経過しましたが、現在もお気に入りの一枚です。 2005年4月6日、大阪のなんばハッチで開かれた来日コンサートにも行きました。ライブはCD以上の音質が楽しめるのでやっぱり良いです。彼女の生の声にはCDより厚味を感じました。スキャットだけでも聴かせる力がある数少ない歌手だなとも。 Remix盤より早くDVDを出して欲しいものです。

ジルベルトの名前からボサノバの王道を期待すると、ちょっとイメージと違うかもしれませんが、洗練された、質感の高い音作りには脱帽です。何度聴いても心地よい気持ちになると思います。
