Beautiful Round

Beautiful Round is a group led by a New York City guitar player and composer Akira Ishiguro. The group performed it's first concert in November of 2012 but several incarnations of the band was around for much longer. The band consists of first rate musicians William Tatge on piano, Pablo Menares on upright bass, and Rodrigo Recabarren on the drums. Ishiguro has been actively entrenched in the New York jazz scene since 2006. He has held a monthly residency at the world famous 55 bar in Manhattan where he has developed many projects and bands. Ishiguro has shared the stage with Nate Smith, Ari Hoenig, Mark Guiliana, Maria Schneider, Jason Lindner, Henry Hey, Will Vinson, John Zorn, George Garzone, Christian McBride, Joe Martin, and many more. Touring has taken Ishiguro to Japan, Portugal, Coasta Rica, and Canada. Ishiguro's accolades include the grand prize in the 2013 Wilson Center Guitar Festival and Competition, grand prize Public's Choice as well as overall second place in the 2009 Gibson guitar competition as part of the Montreux Jazz Festival.
