ビーチボーイズほど過小評価されているバンドはほかにないと思う。 それは主にビーチボーイズというバンド名からくる安易なパブリックイメージの影響が大きい。 ただのサーフィンサウンドだけじゃないんだぞ、と声を大にして言いたい。 本作はポールマッカートニーの影響で聞いて、おかげでビーチボーイズへの見方がかわった個人的思いの強い一作。 むろん名盤である。

歴史的名盤か否かは自分で決めるしかない！ 評論家や某山下さんの解説は後にして 自分がこれを聴いて感じるかが一番だと思う。 ビーチ・ボーイズファンの自分としては・・・このアルバムを絶賛しすぎ。 でも不思議なことに、この深く重いサウンドがずーと続くことも確か。 聴けば聴くほど正直よくわからくなるこのアルバム。

余裕綽々名盤パート２． 低い評価、とくに一つ星の人がけっこういるのが驚きというか新鮮。 健全な状況ともいえますね。ひとがいうから評価高い、てのもヘンだもの。
