New Orleans raised R&B singer Barbara George was discovered by New Orleans singing star Jessie Hill who recommended her to legendary producer Harold Batiste. Her first single, I Know (You Don't Love Me No More), which she wrote, became a huge hit and rose to the # 1 spot of the R&B charts in 1961, reaching # 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
