Product Description

Back In the Valley's debut EP, The Lady, was conceived as a metaphor for California. The impetus for the naming of the band was several of it's members having left California's Central Valley for many years before, finally, returning to the vortex that is Fresno. But it's also a return to what inspired every one of them to pick up instruments in the first place. . . Americana music. Originally aiming toward straight ahead country, the music has evolved into something uniquely their own, a blend of Outlaw and Alt-country. With a wide range of influences, from traditional country, gospel, classic rock and rockabilly, to Rhythm & Blues, their approach is genuine and thoughtful, while not taking themselves too seriously. In their relatively short tenure as an act, they have garnered a strong following largely due to their electrifying live performances, an obvious fondness and respect for one another, captivating original compositions and eclectic choices in cover material. They were invited to play KFSR's 2nd Annual Fresno Grand Opry and recently played the 5th Annual FUSE Festival. Back In the Valley's CD release, entitled, A California Calliope Spectacle, was an interactive performance-art experience. Think the Rolling Stone's Rock & Roll Circus meets a traveling Wild-West Medicine Show! Fire-eaters, belly dancers, burlesque, human curiosities, hill-jacks, cutthroats & horse-thieves. An experience in the vein of a twisted, country carnival of epic proportions. Look for Back In the Valley live at a venue near you!
