Axis - The Story So Far Axis is Epic My name is Nic McCafferty, singer/guitarist in Brisbane band Axis. When people ask what Axis sounds like I often find it difficult to select words which accurately describe our sound. I usually describe it as powerful rock music. We use big guitar sounds, impressive synthesizers and lush vocal harmonies to project our heartfelt songs. Many of our fans comment on the originality of our music and the sheer power of our stage shows. I am most flattered when fans tell us Axis sounds different to any other band they have ever heard. Formed in late 2003, Axis began the same way most bands begin. A group of friends with similar musical taste jamming at each others' houses. Within a year Axis was performing at several parties and University events. Between 2004 and 2007 Axis performed regularly at several highly reputable venues around Brisbane. Following a long period of performing regularly we decided to withdraw from the stage and enter the studio to write and produce our debut full-length album, deciding we would not perform again until the album was complete. The last year has seen us spend hundreds of man hours in the studio carefully sculpting a 12-track 57 minute album which we are all especially proud of. With the completion of our debut album Axis is more excited than ever about the future and we hope you can become a part of it. - Nic McCafferty.
