Huntington Beach's Avenged Sevenfold release another show of their power and prominence. The dominating vocals of M. Shadows blend wonderfully with Synyster Gates' lead guitar riffs, coupled with The Reverend's drumming, 'Waking The Fallen' is guaranteed to take your breath away. An evolved sound moving a little closer to metal and away from their California punk roots, but never-the-less still an epic album. Not one song on this album will let you down, each more energetic and mosh-worthy than the last, with a couple of ballads thrown in for good measure just to let you know that they do have a softer side.
