'Former Aria Novos vocalist and keyboard player Audrey Sinead spent the last year writing and recording her debut EP and first as a solo artist 'Control'. Upon first listen of 'Control' you can hear an artist who has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into every single note and lyric of every song on the EP. The melodies are haunting and the vocals are very dynamic and showcase the artist's range. The EP's first song Oliver is instantly memorable and wastes no time setting the stage for what you can expect throughout the five songs of this EP. The vocals are soaring and beautiful, and the song contains lyrics you will remember long after you've finished listening, like 'I see stars, but I can't seem to catch them.' By the time you have listened to all five songs, you will want to again and again. Audrey's talent and songwriting comes through from start to finish and is mature beyond her years. After repeated listens you'll forget that this is her first EP and debut as a solo artist and will be desperately waiting for the next one to come out. When asking Audrey about her influences for the EP, she mentioned artists such as Trespassers William, Bic Runga, Lights, Now Now, and Eisley. These influences are clearly heard in Audrey's songs, but are unique and original through her voice and writing. If you are a fan of any of these artists, you will enjoy 'Control' and don't be surprised if you see Audrey Sinead achieving the success these other artists have had and becoming a recognized name. As a songwriter, musician, and someone who manages other artists, I expect nothing but great things from Audrey. If this is only her first EP, just imagine what's yet to come. ' -EG.
