これも、超有名盤。ジャズを知らない人でも、この表題曲はどっかで聴いたことがあるはず。いわゆる、ファンキー・ジャズというやつです。アート・ブレイキーという人は、フロントがソロを取ってる後ろでも、ドタドタとやりたい放題ですが、そういうアートおじさんの、楽しぃーっていう感じが伝わってくる好盤です。

他のＢＮ盤のレビューでも書いたんですけどこれもやはり星五つは付けたくないけれどたまに聴きたくなる1枚です。所謂定番アルバムで手元に置いてないと不安になる、だけど滅茶苦茶好きかというとそうでもない…。そういう評価のアルバムがやたらとＢＮには多いと思いませんか？

「これが約半世紀前の音楽！？凄い！！」 このアルバムを聴き終えた時の率直な感想です。 ふとしたきっかけで、「ＪＡＺＺでも聴いてみようか・・・」と思い立ったものの、何を聴いたらいいのかさっぱり解らないまま、ＪＡＺＺ関連の書籍を何冊か捲ってみると、このアルバム名とリーダーであるドラムスのアート・ブレイキーの名前をよく目にしたので購入してみました。 特に、アルバム名でもある「モーニン」は皆さまもおそらく何処かで聴いたことのある曲だと思います。アート・ブレイキーのドラム捌きはもとより、トランペットのリー・モーガンをはじめとするサイドメンの各演奏も素晴らしいです。 下手な文書で、上手くまとめることができませんが、私があと半世紀生き続けたとしても、このアルバムの素晴らしさは色褪せることなくずっと聴き続けていると思います。
